PSA Testing at the Wellbeing Hub

On Wednesday 17th April Horizon Wellbeing Hub is inviting men to get their Prostate Specific Antigen levels tested.

The test is done by taking a small amount of blood and will detect any abnormalities that may need further investigation. Testing will take place between 9:30am and to 17:15pm and costs £25. There are limited spaces available, so ensure to book your spot here.

What Does the Test Tell Me?

A high reading can be an indication of issues such as enlargement of the prostate, a urinary infection, or potentially prostate cancer. Although this test is not to diagnose cancer, regularly monitoring PSA levels is the best method of reducing prostate-related mortality. Since a raised PSA level may indicate further issues, you will be prompted to visit your GP, who will discuss your results with you further.
