M27 Junction 10 Improvement Scheme

The M27 Junction 10 currently has restricted access, only allowing partial movements for traffic travelling in a westbound off and eastbound on direction.

A package of highway upgrades are needed to help bring forward the development of Welborne Garden Village to the north of Fareham.

Hampshire County Council are responsible for the delivery of improvements on the M27 at Junction 10 to support the Welborne Garden Village development. The scheme involves upgrading the junction to create an ‘all moves’ junction, which includes constructing a new motorway underpass, adding three new slip roads, and creating a new dual carriageway to link the slip roads to the existing road network. Details of the M27 Junction 10 scheme.

More information can be found on the scheme web page M27 Junction 10 improvement scheme | Transport and roads | Hampshire County Council

The motorway underpass is currently being constructed offline, to the north of the M27 and will be slid into position during an extended motorway closure of the M27 between Junction 11 (Fareham) and Junction 9 (Whiteley) during the Christmas 2025 / New Year 2026 school holidays. There will be closure period of the motorway and the traffic will be diverted onto the A27 between junctions 9 and 11 and as part of the preparations we are considering aspects that could affect traffic movement on the diversion route.
